General Information
5 Day Community Homes
Bloomfield Drive
This 5 Day Community Home was established in 1999 and moved to its present location in 2009.
The creation of the unit was to address the separation issues that could arise when people we work with leave their family home to pursue a community living programme and to also enable the service user to learn skills that would help them if they moved on even further to a 7 day community home or a supported independent living programme.
Aims and Objectives of Unit / Programme:
The aim of Arcadia Court is to create a home away from home experience. The residents of the house should feel that this is their home and as such they have a say and indeed an active role in the running, maintenance and development of their home.
Overview of Unit / Programme Activities:
The unit has some standard activities such as the person using the local post office to collect their Disability Allowance and local banks. They will also use the shops and shopping centres on a daily and ongoing basis.
However a lot of other activities are sourced as and when people request them and include a very diverse variety of activities.
This service is available to a mixed client group on a Monday to Friday basis, located in Bloomfield Drive, Coosan, Athlone.
Location: Bloomfield Drive, Coosan, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
Telephone: (090) 6476164.
