The name Nuala O’Brien is after one of the founding members of St. Hilda’s.
This service is currently being developed within our Adult Care Programme in response to the changing client profile; this programme as developed gives due cognisance to the medical and social needs of the older person.
Aims and Objectives:
The ethos and aspirations of the Nuala O’Brien Centre is based around delivering a service that is person centred. We endeavour to deliver a service that meets the needs of the individuals with dignity and respect, whilst promoting independence and maintaining abilities. We aim to empower the people we work with to have a voice, to be listened to and also encourage freedom of choice. We take a holistic approach to the provision of the service and cater for all issues in relation to health, physical, social and psychological wellbeing.
Overview of Activities:
We try to introduce variety into daily activities, while respecting individuals preference for routine, some activities include the following:
- Household duties & Bakery.
- Computers.
- Reflexology & Aromatherapy.
- Annual Holiday.
- Concert & plays.
- Variety of sports.
