Floral Display for Fundraising Event

Individuals supported by the Work Therapy Day Service created stunning flower displays this week for a local charity event  “Dare to Wear Pink” Charity Lunch for Breast Cancer Research which takes place this weekend.

Best of luck from all of us in St. Hilda’s Services to everyone involved in this worthwhile cause.  We are delighted to help out.

Golf Classic 2018

Link

Athlone Golf Club hosted a superb Golf Classic last week in aid of St. Hilda’s Services. The event, supported by its highest turnout of golfers to date, was a great success and received huge support from the public and business community.  On one of the warmest days of the year some excellent scores were achieved, but the day belonged to the many participants who came out in force to help St. Hilda’s build a new house for their Children’s Respite. This year all monies raised through fundraising is going towards this project.

Willie Brady, who takes on the considerable task of organising the Golf Classic for St. Hilda’s said “We are delighted with the turnout this year and the generosity of everyone in supporting this project.  Athlone Golf Club are to be congratulated on the excellent condition of the course and the catering staff provided each participant with an excellent meal. Every three years we run this event and each year we meet many friends who continue to loyally support what we are doing in St Hilda’s”

Willie also extended a special thanks to the staff in St Hilda’s.

St. Hilda’s Services involvement in Community Tourism Initiative

Athlone is to get its first community mural this summer on the underpass of the Garrycastle bridge along the Greenway this year.

As part of this initiative, individuals from The HUB, alongside other community groups, will be involved in painting the mural,  and will work alongside local artist Lucy Tormey.

We would like to wish everyone involved in this exciting task the best of luck.
