St. Hilda’s provides residential services/community homes in the wider community of Athlone. A typical residential service would have 4-6 residents. We provide a seven day residential stay in our community homes.  Most individuals living in a residential service attend a day service or employment.  Individuals are encouraged and helped to personalise their home to reflect their individual taste.  We also provide support to some individuals with Intellectual Disability in their own homes. Family involvement is actively encouraged and supported and are welcome to visit their relatives at any time. While the home provides the basic security and comfort that all of us would value, there is a strong emphasis on engaging with the local communities and the use of community services.  We have 33 people availing of our residential services .  These services are provided in line with the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities (HIQA).
