This year the focus to all fundraising at St. Hilda’s is directed to the renovation of the Adult Training Centre, Grace Park Road, Athlone. The refurbishment and renovation will bring a high quality standard to the building giving all those who access the building the high quality environment they deserve.
“Our aim is to have the very best for those we serve in our community and we are delighted to be taking the initiative with this fundraiser” said Willie Brady, organiser of the Golf Classic. This year the Golf Event will be a competition with 4 persons – €200. St. Hilda’s are also seeking sponsors of Tees and Greens for this worthy cause . Athlone Golf Club hosted a superb Golf Classic last week in aid of St. Hilda’s Services. The event, supported by its highest turnout of golfers to date, was a great success and received huge support from the public and business community. On one of the warmest days of the year some excellent scores were achieved, but the day belonged to the many participants who came out in force to help St. Hilda’s build a new house for their Children’s Respite. This year all monies raised through fundraising is going towards this project.
Willie Brady, who takes on the considerable task of organising the Golf Classic for St. Hilda’s said “We are delighted with the turnout this year and the generosity of everyone in supporting this project. Athlone Golf Club are to be congratulated on the excellent condition of the course and the catering staff provided each participant with an excellent meal. Every three years we run this event and each year we meet many friends who continue to loyally support what we are doing in St Hilda’s”
Willie also extended a special thanks to the staff in St Hilda’s.
